hey guys! so as you might already know- i created a small little business called washed roots directly out of high school. it was what i was dreaming up while taking some college classes at the community college next door to my parents house. i have always had a desire for collecting second hand clothing. it all started with my grandmother and i at a young age. she would hand me a few quarters and say that i could buy whatever i wanted at the yard sale with what was in my hand. im sure you could see the excitement light up in my eyes. she would also teach me to see the detail in everything, not to waste fabric, and lots of sewing lessons. my grandmother could and still can- do anything and everything. i took these passions and ran with it.
i started with creating a concept of what i wanted to do and a name for it. washed roots felt right. it made it easier for myself to start because i could take photos of my own clothes and have plenty of options if i wanted to style my photoshoots with washed roots. it was not and has not been easy to say the least. starting up not only one but TWO businesses by myself has been a tad bit struggling. especially without taking any business or marketing classes. i will put myself out there and then get stressed and back away for along time. this is simply because my anxiety flares up when i don't know how to measure a simple pair of jeans. i overthink and try to make everything perfect when i should just relax, trust my instincts and be messy. after all vintage is not perfect. so from here on out i will push myself to keep getting new items bi-weekly for you guys. i will keep my motivation at a high frequency, attract the business i want and manifest my dreams. let me know if you have any questions or if you would like to hear more about this. thank you for your patience and ridiculous amount of support. xoxo, sarah peyton.
